The New Vauxhall Astra At Frankfurt’s Motor Show
The new generation Vauxhall Astra will make its debut at this September’s Frankfurt Motor Show and will reach UK dealers by later on this year. The brand new Astra marks a major shift in the UK’s compact sector towards premium design and quality. Echoing the flowing forms of its exterior the clever design is effortlessly transformed inside cabin to give the passengers more comfort and space.
Intelligent engineering has gone into the design of the seats; their height can be elevated by up to 65mm, while lateral movement extends to 280mm, allowing all drivers and passengers to find their ideal seating position. The main instruments and gauges are ringed with chrome, with the speedo and tachometers angled inwards towards the driver. The dashboard has a dark grain finish with a subtly contrasting texture to other mouldings in the cabin. Ambient lighting and generous use of premium materials enhances the quality feel of the cabin.
To underline Vauxhalls commitment to engine downsizing and reduced emissions, the new model introduces a 140PS turbocharged 1.4-litre petrol unit. This will be complimented with three further petrol engines and four diesel engines ranging from 95PS to 160PS.
